Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at studio.drt@yahoo.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Pilates is a methodology of training created by Joseph Pilates in Germany. Focuses on the core musculature and correct human body alignment of your spine, Pilates lengthens and strengthens the body while remaining gentle on your nervous system, joints and body overall. For all pricing information, refer to our pricing guide here.

We handle all of our booking ourselves. The quickest way to get in touch to book a session is to text us at (570) 903-5833 or you can send an email to studio.drt@yahoo.com.

We highly encourage new clients to begin with our $50 'Introductory Private Session' before joining group classes. This one-on-one time allows us to assess your understanding of the Pilates method, get to know your unique body, and identify any alignment needs or movement patterns. Starting with a private session ensures we can guide you safely and effectively when you transition into classes, so you feel confident, supported, and set up for success in your practice.

Pilates offers a wide range of physical and mental benefits, including increased core strength, improved posture, enhanced flexibility, and reduced stress levels. It also promotes better body awareness, balance, and coordination, while potentially aiding in pain relief, especially for lower back issues. To learn more about the benefits of Pilates, click here.

Our studio is furnished with STOTT Pilates or Merrithew equipment. We are furnished with classical pilates equipment, such as the reformer, ladder barrel, chair, tower and cadilliac. Click here to learn more about each piece of equipment in detail.

We would never turn you away, but we highly encourage our class members to have taken pilates before. We would encourage you to consider signing up for a  1-on-1 in order to build a foundation and gain a basic understanding of the equipment and exercises that will come up throughout a class as to not take away from other client's class experiences.

Also keep in mind that we are a fully equipped studio that honors the method as a system, so your practice will incorporate all of the equipment as well as the mat- not just the reformer.

Yes! We offer a discounted price on an introductory private session for new clients, which will allow you to learn your personalized setting on the reformer and get you acquainted to what Pilates is all about. Please refer to our pricing guide here for more information.

No. Our classes only accommodate 5 people at a time, so we ask that everyone schedule what classes they want to attend ahead of time to secure their spot. Each class will fill up quickly and you may end up being put on a waitlist until future classes get added to the schedule.

Being that our classes only accommodate 5 people at a time, we ask that you don't bring someone along with you UNLESS it was confirmed with your instructor that there is room. If you are looking to workout with a friend, your best bet is to check out our Duet or Semi Private Sessions.

Group classes must be canceled within 12 hours of your class and private sessions, duets or semi-private sessions must be canceled within 24 hours of your session before being charged for that session. We require an advanced notice in order to accommodate other clients who may need to make arrangements to take your spot in class.

Your comfort is more important than anything, so wear what you are confident in. Although, we do suggest tighter fitting activewear in order for the trainer to be able to see the outline of your body to gauge what your spine is doing throughout the exercises.

Pilates is also performed without shoes, so we require socks to be worn for sanitary purposes in-studio and suggest getting a pair of grippy socks to help keep you from slipping throughout the workout! If you don't have a pair, no worries! We offer them for purchase in-house.

As long as you have clearance from your doctor, Pilates is a perfect form of gentle exercise for anyone, including women who are pregnant! I would recommend sticking with private session, so that everything can be tailored to you and as to not take away from other client's class experiences.

Yes. Pilates was a form of physical therapy before physical therapy was respected by the medical profession. As long as you have clearance from your doctor, pilates is a great form of gently exercise for anyone recovering from an injury.

We love this idea for birthday parties or girlfriends wanting a class together, but we consider on a case by case basis. If this is something that interests you, contact us here!
